Experimentation with shadow and its implications in composition. Shot indoors using a spotlight. High speed exposure, high ISO.

I took this photo in Roscoe, NY during a road trip with a good friend of mine. We found this magnificent tree while exploring the area near our motel. I wanted to capture the drama of the rotting trunk in a photograph. I usually take photographs of people because I find them more interesting. I felt that the drama of the capture is felt through both the pose of the model and the tree in the background.

I took this photo as part of a photo study that I have been interested in for a while. I took it using natural light. I shoot with a Canon 20D.

I am passionate about photography because it allows me to look more closely at things. To see them differently.
